The 3rd Arkansas Tree Farmer Conference will be held on Friday, June 2nd at the Conway County Multi-Purpose Building in Morrilton. Following the indoor presentation, Tree Farmers will be treated to hamburgers and hot dogs cooked by Farm Credit of Western Arkansas. The outdoor portion will be held on the Jones Family Tree Farm, a Tree Farm managed by Green Bay Packaging.
The agenda for the conference will include:

8:30 – 9:15 Tree Farm Program Update & Fee Structure Implementation
9:15 – 10:00 Conservation Stewardship Programs
10:00- 10:30 Break
10:30 – 10:45 Tree Farmer of the Year
10:45 – 11:45 Legacy / Estate Planning Panel
11:45 – 12:00 Legislative Update
12:00 – 1:15 Lunch
1:15 – 1:30 Drive to site for tour
1:30 - 3:30 Tree Farm Tour
· Selecting trees for harvest
· Site prep & planning
· Hardwood management
· Gas pipeline considerations
Attendees will be responsible for transporting themselves from the conference site to the Tree Farm, where we will then ride hay-lined trailers for the tour. Carpooling is requested, but not required.
We will keep our eyes and ears open for possible weather changes that might force us to switch the outdoor and indoor portion of the Conference, but we will plan to hold the meeting rain or shine. Please remember that we will be outdoors for part of the meeting so plan to dress accordingly.
