The success of reintroduction efforts that restored wild turkey populations throughout much of the country are considered one of the greatest conservation success stories of the last century. Recently however, Arkansas and many other southeastern states have experienced concerning population declines in these popular gamebirds. This talk will discuss a brief history of turkey populations in Arkansas and how we can improve habitat to better manage these birds into the future.
