Conference Topics:

The 72nd Annual Meeting will host a top-notch lineup of experts exploring areas of Arkansas’s forestry industry. Meeting attendees will learn more about:

  • Hot Topics impacting the forestry community under the new presidential administration; 
  • Innovative uses of timber in design and construction of buildings; 
  •  Drones in Forestry – current uses, hardware, software, pros, cons, hurdles and more; and 
  • The latest update on important wildlife issues in Arkansas including Chronic Wasting Disease, quail restoration and Green Tree Reservoirs. 
Forestry Management Workshop:

Forestry professionals will be on hand to discuss topics geared toward assisting private landowners. Highlights include: 

  • Forest Landowner Panel 

3-person panel to discuss their personal experiences and perspectives on: 

  • Access, Easements, and Hunting Leases 
  • Legacy Planning 
  • Value of Certification 
  • Seedling Production 

Showcase the step-by-step process of site prep, planting, growing, and harvesting of pine and hardwood seedlings at the ArborGen Nursery. 

  • Forestry Ethics* 

This presentation highlights forestry related ethics scenarios with audience participation. The discussion will include timber purchasing and harvesting methods among others. 

*CFEs will be provided for Registered Foresters 



We have received a special group room rate of $94 – single or double; at the Holiday Inn Little Rock – Conference Center, 3201 Bankhead Drive, Little Rock, AR. Please make your reservations by calling 1-501-490-1000 and refer to the “Arkansas Forestry Association Annual Meeting” to receive the special group rate. To receive the group rate, reservations must be received by September 4. After that date, available rooms will be sold at the prevailing rate. 


Silent Auction:
We welcome door prize and silent auction donations that you may want to provide. The silent auction benefits the AFA Education Foundation (AFAEF). Please let us know what silent auction item/s you will be bringing by emailing so that bid sheets may be created. 
You may bring these items with you to the annual meeting or ship them to the AFA office at 1213 W. 4th Street, Little Rock, AR 72201. 
You will receive a receipt for your silent auction items that may be used as a tax-deduction, as AFAEF is a 501(c)3 non-profit.
