The 2020 AFA Spring Board of Directors Meeting will take place at the Fairfield Bay Conference Center on May 7-8.  Lodging will be next door at the brand new Cobblestone Inn and Suites. The hotel is located at 100 Lost Creek Parkway in Fairfield Bay.  It has easy access to the Fairfield Bay Marina on Greers Ferry Lake, The Bay Trails, Mountain Ranch Golf Course, Indian Hills Golf Course, breathtaking pools and many other wonderful attractions. Hotel amenities include a 24-hour Wolfgang Puck Coffee Service, complimentary hot breakfast buffet, guest laundry and high speed wireless internet access.

 

On Thursday, May 7, starting at 6 p.m., we will have a reception and dinner.  The Board of Directors meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, May 8. We plan to adjourn by noon.

 

Hotel accommodations are available with a room rate of $89.00.  To make reservations, call 501-825-3046. Please make sure to mention the Arkansas Forestry Association to be included in the room block. The room reservation deadline is April 10.

 

This meeting has two optional recreational events on Thursday:

 

  • 18 Holes of Golf:  The greatly reduced rate of $35 per person includes cart, green fees and range balls at the prestigious Mountain Ranch Golf Course.  Interested individuals need to email [email protected] for more information.
  • Historic Tour:  This 2-hour historical tour will cover the historic log cabin and museum, Indian Rock Cave, the marina and Sugar Loaf Mountain, a short walk through the woods at the Methodist Church, and the Indian Thong Tree which was a Native American GPS.  This tour is a space-available bus tour, so pre-registration is required.  The bus will depart from the Conference Center at 1 p.m.  Starting at 12:30 p.m., guests will meet in the hotel lobby and we will walk to the Conference Center at 12:45 p.m.

PLEASE NOTE:  The hotel is graciously offering the $89 room rate for individuals who wish to stay longer.  The Bloomin’ in the Bay Festival will be taking place on Saturday, May 9.
