  Sustainable Forestry Initiative

The Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) is a set of principles and actions that guide forestry and conservation practices.

Sustainable forestry is managing forests to meet present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs. This is achieved by practicing a land stewardship ethic that integrates growing, nurturing and harvesting trees for useful products while conserving soil, air and water quality, and wildlife and fish habitat. SFI principles and guidelines help attain these goals.
